Adam Stein (Goldblum). The funniest man in Germany. And a Jew. Taken to a Nazi concentration camp upon Hitler's rise to power, Adam faces near-certain death in the gas chamber. Until he is spotted by the camp Commandant who recognises Adam as a performer and for his own sadistic pleasure, offers him a chance of staying alive...by becoming the Commandant's pet 'dog'.
